In 1998, Mr. Barton entered the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, graduating cum laude in 2001.  Mr. Barton is admitted to the practice of law in California, New York, and the District of Columbia, and is admitted to the bar of the U.S. Supreme Court.

In his eight years working for major Los Angeles law firms, Mr. Barton acquired experience with a wide range of cases varying in nature, size and complexity. View Big Firm Experience During that 8-year period, Mr. Barton personally represented clients in dealings with California regulatory agencies including, among others, the Department of Real Estate.

As a solo practitioner, Mr. Barton’s first priority is to solve a client’s problems as quickly and cost effectively as possible while keeping the client fully informed.  With an advertising agency background in client service, Mr. Barton knows firsthand the importance of responding promptly to client inquiries.  And he knows the importance of explaining to clients the underlying law and available options, so that they may make informed decisions.

Often, a client’s problem can be solved with a few simple phone calls or a letter.  In these cases, filing a lawsuit would be a disservice to the client, and would not be recommended.

When litigation does ensue, in up to 90 percent of cases a skilled attorney can resolve the problem through negotiation and settlement, reducing or eliminating the expense and time involved in preparing for trial.

If trial is inevitable, Mr. Barton has the experience and advocacy skills necessary to zealously represent the client, having participated in over a half dozen major trials and arbitrations as a litigation associate in a big-firm setting.
